The “Lifesaving Slipcovers” and a Little Devil Called Boris

Hello and welcome to this new blog for GetSlipcovers.com Before I get started I would just like to wish everybody a happy new year — Lets make it a good one! Anyway, The aim of this blog is to keep you updated on everything to do with slipcovers. I just love slipcovers because of their versatility and ease of use. Plus, they can be a lifesaver at times! Years ago I was organizing a dinner party over the Christmas period. Everything was going to plan - the food was coming on nicely, the candles were lit and the ambience was set. The guests were due to arrive in an hour.

 I was almost starting to relax when — disaster struck!! Boris, my boisterous 1 year old Labrador, had been out on a walk and had come back covered in mud. The beeper went on my hob and I got distracted for a split second – Boris, the little devil, managed to sneak out of the utility room into the lounge and promptly decided to make himself comfortable on the sofa! Muddy paw marks covered the cream cotton fabric! 

After an initial panic, I realised that up in the loft I had an old set of slipcovers that I had changed the previous year. After rummaging through half a dozen or so boxes, I eventually found the old pair. Hurrying down stairs, and conscious of the fact that my guests would arrive at any minute, I whipped the mud trodden slipcovers off and replaced them with the old ones. The dinner party ended up being a huge success and a friend of mine even commented about how nice my new couch was! I would advise anyone to always keep a spare pair of slipcovers to hand. You just never know when they will get you out of a fix!
